do adjustments hurt? what is the popping noise?

No, when done correctly Chiropractic adjustments do not hurt. They are done precisely on a joint that is not functioning properly given nitrous gas stuck in the joint. When an adjustment is performed the gas is released helping restore the full range of motion of the joint. Not everyone is a candidate for adjustments. We will determine through detailed evaluation if it is necessary when creating your custom treatment plan.

is it safe to get adjusted when pregnant?

YES! Chiropractic is actually encouraged when you are pregnant as it supports the body with all the new changes. Pregnancy causes pressure on the joints and change in hormones to loosen ligaments leading to pain and nerve compression. Chiropractic uses a gentle approach to align the pelvis, relieve the musculature and restore the nervous system to create balance within the body. Dr. Vargas, a mother herself, will help decrease the pain so you can have a stronger connection with your baby, experience more comfort and often times have a shorter/easier labor. She has helped many women transition into beautiful motherhood.

do you take insurance?

Unfortunately we are not in network with any insurance but do offer affordable self pay rates and can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance if needed.

What does the first visit include?

On your first visit we will go through a detailed history and examinations to find the source of the problem. A review of the findings and treatment plan will be discussed with you after your treatment which can include a variety of soft tissue therapies (ART, IASTM, cupping), joint manipulation, traction, electrical modalities, rehabilitative exercises, etc.

is chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise.

is chiropractic safe for kids?

Yes, children can benefit from chiropractic care. Children are very physically active and experience many types of falls and blows from activities of daily living as well as from participating in sports. Injuries such as these may cause many symptoms including back and neck pain, stiffness, soreness or discomfort. Chiropractic care is always adapted to the individual patient. It is a highly skilled treatment, and in the case of children, very gentle. Dr. Ivana Vargas treats her own children with Chiropractic care.

how many treatments will i need?

The length and frequency of treatments vary from person to person. We will evaluate the complexity of your situation and create a treatment plan depending on whether it’s a newer or older complaint, how badly it is affecting your quality of life, what is the cause, and your overall level of health. Some patients gain relief from one treatment while others may need a few. Any at-home recommendations that may be given could help speed up the process and create a more lasting effect.
